We are building a Moon mission to explore Lunar sub-surface structures by 2030. This unique space exploration mission will generate groundbreaking scientific knowledge, provide critical information about future Lunar habitats and space resources utilization and develop capabilities for upcoming commercial Lunar activities (Lunar communication and remote sensing).
LUGO (Lunar Geology Orbiter) will probe irregular mare patches from a low-flying orbit before hitting one of them with an impactor to find out not only their age, but age of Lunar volcanism. Further, LUGO will provide high-resolution topography, sub-surface and spectral data to begin mapping lava tubes and caves as ideal areas for permanent settlements thanks to their radiation and micrometeorite protection, stable temperatures and resource potential. We will provide topography and remote sensing for future rover operations and look for resource-rich non-polar areas for ISRU operations.
